What a first year actually costs
Tuition is rarely the number that decides anything. This is the whole first year, including the costs that usually surface late.
| TuitionPer year, as published by the university | $5,645 |
|---|---|
| Living costsAccommodation, food, transport — a working estimate | $13,000 |
| Student visaGovernment fee, one-off | $235 |
| Health insuranceTypically mandatory for international students | $350 |
| First year, all in | $19,230 |
Not in the table above: Consular fee €200; realistic visa-stage total ~$350–450 with mandatory 365-day travel insurance (~$30–60) + document legalization (~€30/doc) + translations. The graduate job-search permit costs PLN 340 and a subsequent work-based temporary residence permit PLN 440. Insurance figure cross-checked against real quotes 2026-10-01: private annual policies for foreign students run ~$335–400 (Signal Iduna/AXA/Allianz range); NFZ voluntary insurance ~$145–195/yr (per University of Warsaw Welcome Point and Medical University of Bialystok) is the budget option. The $350/yr figure used here is a mid-range private-policy figure.
Warsaw University of Technology publishes this fee as EUR 2,490 a year. The dollar figures above are converted, so treat them as approximate and quote the published amount when you apply.

After you graduate
Graduates of this program are eligible for 9-mo graduate residence permit (once only) in Poland. Work rights are set by government policy rather than the university, and they change — check the current rules before you rely on them.
What the headline leaves outNine months, granted ONCE, not renewable — and the timing is strict. You must file from INSIDE Poland, during lawful stay connected with your studies, immediately after graduating and no later than the last day of your lawful stay. Leave the country first and you lose it. The compensating advantage is significant: graduates of full-time Polish studies are EXEMPT from needing a separate work permit, so once you hold a residence basis that allows work you can take a job without the employer applying for permission. Fee for the graduate permit is PLN 340.
