How we use your details

When you finish the short onboarding we ask for your first name, email address, what and where you want to study, your grade range, budget, intended intake and English test status. You can use the program catalog, the country pages and the search without giving us any of this.

Your saved search. Your answers are stored in your own browser so the app can pick up where you left off on this device. They are also written to a private spreadsheet we keep so that, if you ask, we can help you by email.

Your welcome email. We send one email to the address you give, containing a link that restores your saved search on any device. We may occasionally email you about deadlines for programs you have shown interest in. You can reply to any email to ask us to stop.

AI matching and the advisor. Your profile, and anything you type to the advisor, is sent to an AI model to produce your matches, answers and document drafts. We do not store advisor conversations or generated documents on our servers; they live in your browser until you clear them.

Engagement analytics. To understand which parts of the app help, we record that a browser did things like open a program, add one to its tracker, send an advisor message or come back later. Each record carries a random browser identifier and the type of action — never your name, email, grades, message text or documents. This identifier is per browser, not per person, and is not linked to your saved profile.

We do not sell your information. We use these providers to run the service, and each receives only what its job needs:

• Vercel — hosts the app and provides page analytics.
• Google — Google Sheets, where saved profiles and the engagement records are stored; Google Calendar, if you book a consultation.
• Resend — delivers our emails.
• Anthropic — provides the AI model behind matching, the advisor and document drafts.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We do not otherwise share it with universities, agents or advertisers.

The "Continue your search" link in your welcome email contains your saved answers in a form that only our server can read, and it works for 90 days. Anyone who has the link can open your saved search, so treat it like a password: don't forward the email, and if you think someone else has it, email us and we will help. Links cannot currently be cancelled one at a time; they expire on their own.

"Start over" in the app clears your saved search from this browser. To have your details removed from our spreadsheet, or to ask what we hold, email info@igowithigho.org from the address you signed up with. We are a small team and will reply within a few days.

Study Gateway is for people planning university study; it is not intended for children under 16.
